blueguitar AKA wayne l. berry has been collecting nude musicians, quixotically, online for better than 10 years. wayne also writes micro-fiction concerning music and its impact on people, chaotically, for 30, , and has been happily married to his mate - steven k. - (no matter what the state of Georgia says!) for 15 years.
Recently, I told nakedpicturesofyourdad that I would leave the year-end lists to likes of VH1, but in fact, I DO have at least one #1 for 2011… (damned if i could arrange the other 39 songs on that list though!)
And because this is true I would say my MOTY 2011 is Mr. RD Mauzy, singer/songwriter for AngstyTeens&DragQueens! Sure, I am a friend of his (and full disclosure? I created a virtual sleeve for one of his singles this year) but telling true, he is indeed talented, funny… and the cherry on top? SEXY as hell! But more to the point – he ACTUALLY has inspired me!
As a very old punk, somewhere along the line, I had forgotten what DIY really means! And Mr. Mauzy’s work ethic has given me a kick in the pants! How the creative process is NOT about making money or gettin’ ALLEYESONME!, but it’s about collaboration and not compromising in equal measure. It’s about putting yourself out there and not worrying about failure or looking foolish! But MOSTLY? It’s about DOIN’ IT! (if not always by yourself.) And that procrastination is heat death!
Thanks to his example, I have finished a project or two of mine own that I could easily have let whither in apathy and fucking around. …
