As mentioned last month, AT&DQ has reached the one-year mark. In that time, we’ve been secretly stashing away secret sounds on our secret weapon: cassettes.

Rehearsals, improvisations, out-takes, experiments, covers, prank calls: if the hand-held tape recorder was near by, it went on tape.

The tape recordings evolved to take on a collage quality, as already-used tapes would be re-recorded in fragments on randomly queued parts of tapes. Over time, this grew into eleven volumes of cassette recordings, each one hour long.

We also hand-crafted cover art for each tape.

The fidelity is extremely low, and recordings made when the battery was dying play extra fast! No two tapes are a-like, from the artwork to the audio contents, each is a one-of-a-kind, hand numbered 1-11.
